Recently Amazon added one most awaited ability to unlock smart locks using Alexa voice Assistant device. So here I am going to show you how you can enable that new feature and use it.
Before this you’ve only been able to lock the doors using Alexa, as unlocking the door lock using your voice was considered risky. But now, Amazon has found a way out and added a feature for unlocking Alexa compatible smart door locks. To unlock the door you just need to speak a voice code you have set. So now without any further delay let me show you how you can unlock smart door locks using Alexa.
How to Unlock Smart Locks with Amazon Alexa
Step #1 : First of all, Open the Alexa app, and then tap the menu button from the top left corner of the screen.
Step #2: Choose “Smart Home” option from the menu.
Step #3: Go down and tap on the door lock that you want to be able to unlock with your voice.
Step #4: Tap “Edit” .
Step #5: Tap the “Unlock by Voice” toggle switch to turn the option on.
Step #6: Tap on OK.
Step #7: Enter four-digit voice code, which you’ll need to say whenever you unlock your door with your voice. Enter it one more time to confirm the code.
Step #8: Next, you may require to login to your Amazon account.
Step #9: Once you are logged in, the feature will be enabled and Unlock by voice option will be turned ON.

Now, You just need to say is”Alexa, unlock the front door” (or whatever you called your smart lock). Alexa will ask you your Voice code. Simply say that the code, and your door will be unlocked . You can also still lock your door using your voice, and you do not need a voice code for that.
